Can you apply for multiple majors at the same school?

Alright so here is my dilema.

I should have the grades to transfer as a Computer Science major in fall 09. I am worried though that if I do not get in I will not be able to get into UCSD at all.

Is it possible for me to apply for Computer Science AND Computing in the Arts majors at the same time? I don't want to put all my eggs into the one basket that is Computer Science.

What are your stats?

I THINK that you are allowed to designate an alternate major at all schools except UCLA (unless you're in the TAP program) and Cal. I may be completely wrong though. Anyone else?

yes at UCSD you choose an alternate major as well if your first choice is within the school of engineering

Right now I have a 3.63 overall GPA. In my major pre-req it is lower at 3.0 or so.
