Well for UCLA I want to major in Comm Studies, but I know that'll be tough. I have a good 3 semesters here so far, hopefully looking to maintain a 4.0. I'm sorry to hear that you're transferring out of SMC, where are you headed next?

do you guys think the admission rate will be lower for us because of all the budget cuts?!? I'm debating whether or not to take classes over the summer so I will have enough units to sign the TAG agreement...it would make me sleep a lot better at night knowing that I'm in somewhere!

sophie24 I ve heard that my class 2009, will be the roughest. 2010, according to obama will be pretty good. Good luck class of 2010, let's hope it's true and budget cuts will not be a factor like for us this year.

chesserforlife,
I love SMC so far. Compared to what I hear from my home college--LAVC--SMC is much more academically driven. Currently I am taking Math 2, Poli Sci 1 (Great class, if you haven't taken it yet, take Schultz), Couns 20, and Comm 1. I should have a little more than 30 units done by the end of the summer, so I'll be set to transfer.
-Just a side note: I know a lot of community colleges have TAP with Pomona College, does anyone know if that TAP will give you a good shot at admission? I hear it's really tough to get into Pomona and I'm wondering if that TAP will give us CCC students a legitimate shot.

I genuinely thought I failed my art history exam a couple weeks ago, and I got it back and I got a B+. I was flabbergasted.
I am taking 21 units this semester. O_O
I'm expecting to get 4 A's and 2 B's. If all goes as planned.

erikuh, it's only the first midterm. you can still shoot for the A!!!! i'm taking a physical anthro class right and I'm just not feeling it. I really hope I can pull an A in it tho :/
do you guys recommend taking classes P/NP if they are not even UC transferrable? I'm taking trig right now and I'm debating whether to do so or not.

I'm hoping to transfer in the fall of '10 as well...
If it doesn't work, I think I'll be good with winter '11.

Sophie, I had a similar situation. I was taking the same class and I eventually just took it for the grade because I was comfortable with it and I knew I'd get an A. However, if you're looking to go to grad school, they look at everything so you might want to consider that. however, I don't see anything wrong with taking a non-transferable course C/NC

Sophie - I'm waiting for my physical anthro class to start right now actually! It's a toughie especially since were past the stuff we learned in HS bio and are in human evolution now.
I rechecked his ratemyprofs and read that he gives an extra credit assignment. There's hope!
