erikuh,

I definitely recommend Poli Sci 1 Scholars with Schultz, it's a great class. I'm also in your situation, as I have to squeeze in 3 honors classes by Fall 2009. It's odd that your request for extra units got shut down, how is your gpa? When I asked my Scholars counselor she was fine with it.

Applying to:

UCLA: Communication Studies
UCB: Rhetoric
UCSB: Communication

-and private schools-
Pomona College: Politics
Occidental College: Government
Sarah Lawrence College
USC: Annenberg School of Communications
Cornell: Communication

A little diversity, but I'm really not too sure yet :/

I technically don't have a SMC GPA yet since this is my first semester here. But I got a 3.35 or something at my old school.

The fall schedule is up although they haven't announced it. Yay for changing web addresses from 2008 to 2009.

SMC Schedule of Classes Fall 2009

If you take HIST 13, COMM 10 (Bundy campus), or PSYCH 11 (Bundy campus) let me know. Those are the tentative scholars classes I'm going to take.

hey guys, how do we go about in writing our personal statements if we plan to apply for different majors at different UCs? because don't we have to write about why we chose that major? so if you have 2 possible major would you have to incorporate both in the essay? Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I'm in a dilemma!

for example:

MartinSMC, you are applying as a Communication Studies for UCLA and Rhetoric for UCB. will you write about Communication Studies or Rhetoric or BOTH in your personal statement?

People from smc, anyone who needs to take anthro 2, DO NOT TAKE Minzenberg. He's very nice, but his quizzes and midterms are very tricky! also for political science, schultz is good, buckley is hard but you'll learn a lot, farber is another nice and easy lady. I know most of the professors from every department in smc if anyone needs help choosing classes and the right professor, tell me and I'll gladly assist with any concerns you may have.

Fall '10 transfer here.

Schools thus far:

Public:
UCB
UCLA
University of Washington

Private:
USC
Pomona College
Pitzer College
Seattle University
Brown (?)

I'm really trying to expand my college horizons and get more ideas of which schools to look into. Any suggestions?

I heard Cornell and NYU are pretty transfer friendly if you're interested in the NY area.

Wow, those are very high admit rates compared to everywhere else I'm applying (minus SU). Thanks for the info, Erikuh. I'll definitely look into both of those.

I'm too lazy to take extra classes. *cough*USC*cough*
Extra essays too. Ha.

I'll look for other top 50 schools with 20%+ trasfer rates.
