thanks for the info junebug and leaftye, i really have to scope out the area. Hey junebug, if you dont mind, do you think you could post the picture on here, i think it would be helpful for a handful of us. Use a free hosting site like photobucket, or ImageShack® - Image Hosting i would greatly appreciate it.
Yeah I get what you are saying leaftye, with the automatic acceptance but im sure they are checking prereqs for majors and what not so it also makes sense not to have it (they have already proved they are technologically inept, ask the 47,000 students who got acceptances haha)
I have been browsing the forums and I was combing through the Fall 2009 acceptance thread, so what I have concluded from others' experiences is that they send the acceptances first and rejects towards the end of the admission deadline. There were people who did TAG and were denied, but called in and were later admitted so it seems all the TAG kids got in. Since we are ALL TAG, I am scared they will just fill up all the spots and have to deny based on the disastrous UC budget and lack of available space. I really hope we all get in though, since we all qualify for TAG.
sigh.. the wait is killing me. I've already started planning ahead and getting intouch with people in SD and I will be crushed if I dont get in :/

i based it off of the classes they were making us take, from least to most.

Okay... Actually I got in UCR this fall, but I then decided to apply to UCSD as a TAG program student. I was totally confused and I thought they may reject me even if I am applying through the TAG program. I called them more than 3 times to ask about the TAG program, and the three admission counselors whom I talked to said that even if they have thousand application and they are all qualified, UCSD HAS to accept them all. They definitely have to check the applications to give the right decision, because anyways all the information that they have is the information that YOU told them, and that is why they cannot rely just on computers to give decision.
Don't worry guys and keep up the good work ! .. hope that helps whoever is worried about that issue |

Yeah, the budget cuts are my biggest concern. That totally throws a wrench in things. They may truthfully say they would happily accept all of us, but truthfully or not, turn around and say they can't afford it because of the budget cuts.
I don't remember my rankings, but I ranked Revelle #1. I may have to take BILD 3 (or 2?), then the rest is all upper division. I'll have to take at least two extra upper division classes to hit the minimum unit requirement....maybe more depending on how many units the classes are. That may sound bad to some because that means I'll have to take more hard classes, but I like it. It gives me an opportunity to swap some of the extra upper division classes for grad classes, which allows me to get some of the grad school education without spending the extra time in school that'll delay my goal of getting into a professional school asap.

&rew, im still highly skeptical that they can accept that many people, but i am hoping for the best.
and leaftye, they could also give us fall admission or something which would also delay things a bit. It sounds like you have a solid plan, good luck.
So yeah iv'e decided i am not going to worry about housing until im sure that i've been admitted. It's such a hassle...

Well the thing is not that many people apply in the winter(compared to fall) and thus not that many people get acceptances. Also the tag reqs. are very specific and they are very strict in that they enforce them to the dot.
If you meet the reqs for TAG, then double check, if you still meet them, re-check again and if you still meet them, then--knock on wood--you'll be a triton come January.

Yeah, TAG is a Transfer Admission Guarantee. I spoke with a counselor at UCSD as well and was told that they HAVE to accept all TAG students if they are truly eligible (i.e., the student has completed IGETC). And Sam, I wouldn't worry about housing right now, all winter transfers are going to be in the same boat as you come (hopefully) acceptance time. But I agree, the wait is killer...

^^ I really really hope they accept everyone.. can only wait and see. Check out the fine print on the TAG site: Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) 2010-2011
They added an asterisk in every sentence that says winter 2011.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and it says this: *The TAG program is subject to change with respect to Winter 2011 applicants. Be sure to check this page frequently for updates.
hmmmm this excess verbiage makes me somewhat skeptical. Exactly what is, ' Subject to change?! Why would they put that there, what do you guys think? Sorry if I am looking into this too much, but it just seems fishy to me... I too talked to counselors and they also said they have to accept everyone who qualifies.

What does it matter, that's for 2011 not 2010.

I still haven't heard anything yet. But I heard that they do send you an email to tell you that your status has changed when they do post a decision.
Samsizzle.. The apartments that are near by and on the shuttle line are those http://commuter.ucsd.edu/helpfulform...ap08_front.pdf |
