as a ucla student studying english/bio/premed, does one wake up in the morning thinking something like "i can't wait to learn today!" or is class still dreaded? Now I dread school, which may be a bad sign, but it's prolly a mixture of senioritis and boring subjects.

to what extent do profs, ta's and/or classmates intellectually motivate the student?

*I also want to ENJOY class..any advice on signing up for the right classes that are fun and intellectually stimulating?

is applying for honors soph or jr yr possible and how competitive is applying if so?

It depends on your interest. I am an engineer, and love and hate classes at the same time.

I hate doing the work, but after I'm done, for some reason I feel very happy about it and want to do more.

Maybe engineering is just screwing up my head. Writing classes, on the other hand, will be more enjoyable. I am sure you will enjoy your classes and learn much, despite any workload.

Good professors and TAs will make classes exciting; learn to use bruinwalk to attempt to select a preferred instructor.

first two weeks, you will feel enthusiastic about classes (at least i did). After about the first months, i stopped going to most of my classes. hahaha but this is becuase my chem professor just read off his course reader the whole time and my life science professor podcasted her lectures. also, i can't wake up in the morning and am mostly nocturnal (at least this quarter i am).
