confused!

I was wondering how we choose our classes, do we choose our own professors? And when do we choose classes?

You enroll for classes of your choice (assuming they are available and there is still room) at orientation. You can see which professor is teaching each class, and in that way, yes, you choose your professor.

But you don't get to mix and match profs, times, and classes or anything that perfect.

Go to Schedule of Classes Home Page and select a course to see the professor teaching it, restrictions, enrollment data, when and where it is held, etc.

another useful tool: your my.ucla class planner. lets you play with possible schedules on a grid so you can visualize it and prevent overlaps/finals conflicts etc.
