I am TOTALLY confused.

Ok. so im planning on taking string orchestra all four years. And since it is in the A-G requirements...it counts towards my GPA and I think it lowers it.
Here I'll list out my schedule for junior year

0-String orchestra A=4
1-English 2H A=4
2-Math Anal Hon. A=5
3-Chemistry Hon. A=5
4-Spanish 2 A=4
5-Euro Ap A=5
6-Track (doesnt count)

so...i should have a 4.5. but without orchestra(optional class)..i would have a 4.6! somebody please correct me if i made an error. Because i thought UC's would encourage extra classes like orchestra. But i dont want it to hurt my GPA

dont really worry about weighted GPAs, just take the most difficult course load (regardless of honors status or not) and have a high unweighted GPA.

The same thing happened to my GPA due to band. Don't worry about it - I got in! Hewhothrows gave you perfect advice!
