how about a calculator if you're giving the placement tests?

They actually give you a towel, so you don't *have to* bring one.

Things that MAY be nice to bring:
-sunscreen
-sunglasses
-water bottle (there are water fountains around, they just take awhile to find)
-laptop (use to plan classes at night)
-ethernet/cat6 cable (in case your wireless connection sucked like mine)
-money (if you wanna buy stuff at UCLA or Westwood)
-camera (4 the memories)
-cellphone (and get down people's numbers!)

Pack mostly shorts for clothing. I packed one pair of jeans but never wore them cause it was always so hot. And yes, you can bring a calculator for the math placement test but they tell you it's really not needed at all. And leave extra space in your bag cause they give you a ton of extra stuff to take home at the end of the three days.

Mine seemed to be like a hand towel. Maybe I never opened it all the way.

^ hm... now that I think of it.. I don't quite remember... I think it was definitely a towel, though a bit on the small side.

My roomie just used it and she didn't say anything.. so I guess its fine.
