Well, I went to NCSSM... I suppose their home high school could have nominated them. But the Morehead site says a school can nominate up to 5 students based on the size of the senior class.
"The number of nominees allowed from each North Carolina school is based on the size of the senior class as follows:

200 – 399
400 – 499
500 +
