Why Carolina?!

I'm trying to decide where to go.. its getting down to the wire and I love North Carolina but I'm just not sure..

What made all of you decide to go? I'm worried being from out of state that everyone is going to know everyone else and I'm not. Do you know if a lot of people go home on weekends, etc who live in state?

I live in North Carolina, maybe know five people going up there next year and am psyched! I'm sure a lot of people go home every few weekends but not everyone and if one of my friends was not able to go home for thanksgiving or something like that, I'd be more than willing to invite them to spend the holiday with my family. Carolina is a great place to be. I hope you make the right decision for you.
