Changing major--special education

I'm currently a mech eng major looking to change my major to early childhood special education. In order to look at this possibility, should I talk to an engineering advisor, an education advisor, or someone from the career center? Also does anyone know how competitive the special education program is for the application as juniors? Thanks!

You probably should talk to someone in the Education dept. I don't think engineering would be much help with this.

What year are you? A sophomore?

I'm a freshman--basically a sophomore in hours though.
