College of Communication and Dept. of Theatre questions

Hello! I am currently looking at colleges for Fall of 2010 and I'm looking at University of Alabama. I'm wondering how good the College of Communication is compared to other schools. Any advice from someone who goes to UA or knows someone in the College of Communication? Also, Im wondering about the Theatre Department. Are graduates successful, and is theatre a big deal at UA or not really? I appreciate any advice.

I'm UA but am in engineering, so I've spent almost my entire school career north and east of the Quad (Communication and Theater/Dance are west of the quad. From my vantage point, theater and dance are kinda big deal here. The communication school is strong. That's really I can offer. =/ Maybe somebody can shed some insider knowledge about those programs.

Happygirl, Try posting your question on the theatre thread of CC. I bet you'll get some responses there. My daughter would like to know about Alabama theatre as well.

Contact Theatre Dept.

And ask for info about it. Look at how many shows are produced and ask about the facilities. They used to have an MFA program at the Al. Shakespeare Festival, but that was ended as of this year due to a breakdown in negotiations between the Festival and the School. It is a shame, for that was a great relationship for both parties.
