DS received an email today with an offer of 2 tickets to the Bama vs. Arkansas Game Day. Did anyone else get this? We are wondering how many prospective students get invited to attend a game.
DD is a HS senior who is already admitted also. She received an email a few weeks ago and she went to the game with my DH yesterday. UA vs. FIU. She & 92,000 of her closest friends watched Alabama win and we're in the South: TN.

Reason: added state.
my DD got one too. she is a senoir. accepted. we are in tx. 10ish hours away.
i am sure she would like to go, but i am not sure we will be able to squeeze it in!
My son is a freshman at Alabama, and he would say that you will just love going to a football game there. He and his friends had a blast at the UA-FIU game. It only enhanced his freshman experience, which has been pretty awesome so far.

I'll second that. After a long week, the game was a great way to kick back and relax. Having to show up at 3:00 PM for a 6:00 game was a bit excessive, but the 3rd row seats my friends and I had at the 30-yard line were worth the wait.
By the way, I was offered a ticket to the Kentucky game last year, but I was busy that weekend.
The reason the school has you show up at 3 is that UA is crazy on game days! No one shows up just before the game...you'd never make it to the stadium on time. Plus, you receive your tickets at the office that runs campus tours (across from Ferguson).
BTW...we loved going to "game day" when our kids were high school seniors. It was an amazing insight into how fabulous the school spirit is at the school. We bought extra tickets so that our whole family could go to the game - although the rest of us had to sit together in another area...which was fine for us.
I don't know how they figure who to send the postcard for game tickets. The invite comes on a simple postcard (which may get overlooked in some households), and usually requires the student to go to the website and formally accept.
And, yes, both of my kids have had soooo much fun going to UA football games this year.
