Finance is part of the The Culverhouse College of Commerce

Rankings and Data http://www.cba.ua.edu/prospects/rankings

"The best measure of any business school is the success of its graduates. At the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration (C&BA), the success of our alumni clearly demonstrates the quality of our programs, as well as our commitment to helping all business students realize their potential. Current and recent CEOs of seven Fortune 500 companies are C&BA graduates. Among our alumni are numerous Corporate Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Partners and other business leaders. Also, our alumni include CEOs and Vice-Presidents of nonprofit organizations and several current or former governors, congressmen, and representatives.

We offer a broad curriculum of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our programs are consistently ranked among the top programs in the nation. Student ratings of faculty and satisfaction survey scores consistently rank our faculty, programs, and facilities among the top programs in the country. These rankings result from a strong student-oriented faculty who provide excellent classroom instruction. Faculty care about students. They employ the latest technology and teaching methods to ensure that students are prepared to meet the current needs of employers. "

Have you looked at the Culverhouse website? From there you can learn about its strengths, programs, etc.

As a finance major, I may be a bit biased, but from what I've seen and heard, the finance program at UA is quite strong and is a popular major. There is a big selection of finance classes and it is very easy to get a dual major in other business fields, particularly economics. There is also a wide variety of clubs to join devoted to business. The buildings housing the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration (CBA) are located close together on or near the quad, most were renovated around 2004. I second the previous reply to check out their website. I'm not sure about specific college/departmental scholarships, but I'm sure there are many. If the student is interested, CBA has many honors programs besides UHP, IHP, and CBHP, including ones that would let the student get an MS in finance along with the BS in finance.
