mom2collegekids, you should be named mom2UAkids. You have been most informative and helpful for potential students and parents looking at applying to UA. You're like the spoke person for them, they should give you commission for helping them sell UA. After reading your threads on UA, I've applied, hope to get a full-ride for being NHS. Thanks again for your most valuable help.

I want to major in Biotechnology but UA doesn't have it. So I put down Microbiology. Tempted with Chem Eng. and Bio combo. I'm from California, ACT 33, GPA 4.25.

Well, if you quickly change it to any engineering major, you'll get an additional $2500 per year ($10k total). I've heard that Mech Engineering with Bio is a good combo for your bio-tech interests.

What is your career goal? Med school? PhD?

BTW....Fab stats!!! Congrats!!!

I think we're going to go the bio/mech eng route for the biomedical engineering major.

Sure hope son falls in love with Bama at Capstone Day.

So glad all these so cal kids are coming. Looks like Bama is going to be as geographically diverse as Clemson, and a lot easier to get to!

To all you far away travelers, Southwest flies to Birmingham, and that's about an hour drive from Tuscaloosa. Get your rapid rewards credit and book wanna get away fares. You can also earn rapid rewards credit on your rental car.

Hoping to meet people from all over on Capstone Day!

navarre: for UA there is... university honors, international honors, computer based honors programs (all requiring another essay!!). also separate app for fellows if invited. Know you are also looking at auburn and as far as i can tell there is no separate app for honors at auburn, but i did find a link to a scholarship page for college of arts and science there...if you need that link just post and when i get home tonight i'll post the link or pm it to you
