Another Perspective

There has been a lot said on this message board about the negatives of the U of A's BFA Musical Theatre and Acting programs, and I just quickly wanted to provide a different view. I am a Sophomore Musical Theatre major who was admitted to the program from the BA Theatre Arts program last year. I just wanted to say, very simply, that so far my time at the U of A has been very positive and I feel I've improved and learned a lot. While I certainly feel for those who were cut last year (I know some of them, and I feel bad about the way they feel they were treated), all I've personally seen from the UA theatre department are helpful, respectful, knowledgable and honest professors. While I certainly may have a different opinion if I'm released at the end of the year, I will still have benefited immensely from my time in the program.

Congratulations, bigred3535. I am sure all of us here are happy to hear that you are happy in your program. I don't think anyone here has, at any time, quarrelled with the assertion that one can get excellent training at University of Arizona. Let us know how things go.
