Just got assigned to housing

Yay I got my first pick of a hard-to-get-in dorm.

E-Mail Quoted below

You have been assigned to: BABCOCK INN
Room Type: Double

CONFIRMATION DEADLINE: 5/1/2008

Follow these important steps to confirm and secure your housing for the 2008-2009 academic year. If you are unsure as to whether these steps have been completed you may check the status of your housing application and assignment on your housing status page on Student Link (http://studentlink.arizona.edu).

LICENSE AGREEMENT:

Your License Agreement (housing contract) must be completed and received in the Residence Life office by the Confirmation Deadline noted above. If your completed License Agreement is NOT RECEIVED by that date, your housing assignment and application WILL BE CANCELLED.

If you have not completed your License Agreement, you may access it on the Residence Life website (Welcome to Residence Life) by selecting the link to "Submit License Agreement." If you are currently 18 years old or older, you will be able to read and submit your License Agreement on-line. If you are currently under the age of 18, you will be directed to a printable version of the License Agreement and a License Agreement Form. The License Agreement Form must be signed by you and a parent/guardian and mailed or faxed to Residence Life.

CONFIRMATION RENT PAYMENT:

Your $200 Residence Hall Confirmation Rent Payment (which applies to your Fall semester rent) must be received by the Confirmation Deadline noted above. In order to pay your Confirmation Rent Payment, you need to have first paid your $270 University Enrollment Deposit. If your Confirmation Rent Payment (or completed Deferment Request Form) has NOT BEEN RECEIVED by the Confirmation Deadline noted above, your housing assignment and application WILL BE CANCELLED.

If you have not made this payment, you may do so by following the instructions on the University's Student Link system (http://studentlink.arizona.edu). You may pay by Visa, MasterCard, American Express or on-line check. If you will be receiving substantial financial aid to cover tuition and housing, an option in the on-line process is available to request deferment of the Confirmation Rent Payment.

ARIZONA.ROOMMATECLICK.COM

If you are using the Arizona.RoommateClick.com service, please update your profile with the assignment information noted above. If you are not yet using the service and you are interested in doing so, you can find more information about the service on our website (Welcome to Residence Life) by selecting the "Roommates" link under "Community Living."

ASSIGNMENT

Your campus housing assignment may not be one of the preferences you included on your housing application. At this time in the assignment process, we must assign students to spaces we have available. Assignments are made based on a combination of 1) the date we receive completed housing applications, 2) roommate preferences (if any), and 3) space availability. Cancellations do occur, making space available for later rounds of assignments. You may submit a reassignment request on our website (Welcome to Residence Life) until July 1, 2008. Reassignment requests will only be accepted from students who have COMPLETED BOTH the License Agreement AND Confirmation Rent Payment, regardless of when they are due.

This assignment information is also being mailed to you. This email is being sent to ensure that you have timely notification in order to complete the two required steps noted above. If you no longer plan to live in the residence halls next fall, reply to this email and let us know. Please include your name and University student ID number in the email along with a note that you wish to cancel your 2008-2009 housing application and assignment. The $100 application fee is not refundable.

I'm sorry but from everything i hear babcock is horrible, it's pretty dead and stuff over there. The only benefit is you have your own pool outside. I'd recommend a transfer.

Ya... I had a friend that lived there for her freshman year and she said it was terrible. She said that it was difficult to meet people there because of the fact that it's somewhat like a hotel and everyone is always in their rooms with the doors shut. And on top of that, it's pretty far and out of the way.

lol Babcock is not hard to get into. You will have to try hard to socialize with people in your dorm.

I heard babcock is more difficult to get into if you are a freshman. I'll be there too and i don't want to socialize.
