UArts Audition Today - 1/31/09

My D had her MT audition today . . . . AND SHE GOT A CALL BACK!!!!! She was thrilled, to say the least!!!! There were approximately 40-45 students auditioning for MT, 19 of which were called back.

What a looooooooooooooong day! She finished up at 3:30pm, just in time for us to get to the airport and catch a 5:25pm flight back to NC.

All-in-all, today was a great day! To God be the GLORY!

Hi,robinsnipesperry -- Glad to hear that your D got a call-back. Hope everything goes well. (You might recall that my S also got a call-back....unfortunately he also received his first rejection letter from UArts). As I've read the replies from other parents I know that this isn't uncommon. As we told our S -- it just wasn't meant to be so do your best at all of your Auditions and the "right" fit will come! I give all of our children credit for wanting their passion enough to endure the let-downs. Our S took it better than us (his parents!) Best of luck to all!

Maril -- you are absolutely correct - the children tend to handle it a little better than the parents!!!! When my D received her rejection letter from NYU Steinhardt, she was DEVASTATED!!!!! However, when she was over it (about a week later), I was still heartbroken . . . but I NEVER let her see me sweat/cry. I, too, firmly believe that when God closes one door, it's because He has something better in store for you! The only fight we have is the FIGHT OF FAITH! :O) I'll certainly keep you and your S in my prayers.

robin - as NMR mentioned (so sorry I missed your question)) my D is a freshman at Tisch; having gone through this process last year however, I can still remember how good it felt to receive "happy news".

You are so right, as parents we tend to feel things for our children (kind of like when they have an ache or pain, we feel it tri-fold), but things do happen for a reason, and at the end of this seemingly never ending journey, everything will turn out ok!

MTgrlsmom -- question for you: Was your D told that if she wanted to pursue MT she should apply to Tisch? I ask because my D was told to apply to Steinhardt if she wanted to study MT.
