Frat HELP!

What frats should I be afraid of? I have not really checked out the frat scene, but are there any I should completely avoid?

I would say visit them all and look for yourself. Completely discounting any frat because someone else had a bad experience isn't the best plan. Just come in with your eyes open and apply the same things to each one.

I hear people talk about pledge week being such what equalvalent to "HELL WEEK" in like bootcamp, if you were not initially into the frat scene, would you still consider joining?

I don't get why so many students are willing to go through such unpleasant experiences to join a frat.

If you want to make friends, there are other ways to do it. Join clubs, or just talk to people in your classes/in the same major.

It really depends on the fraternity. Some will put you thru hell if you wanna join, some aren't that bad. Of course there are many ways to meet new people, but I think a fraternity gives you the opportunity to make greater and tighter bonds with others.

You really do feel like Brothers after a while. It is a great experience.
