ya I think that's exactly what it means. I thought if your at 270 or something, that's the cut off. My friend is 272, so she's looking at alternatives. Damn, I wanted to get in for Spring to give me a chance to breathe, now seeing all this hassle, I'm kind of glad. Be optimistic, you got a REALLY good lottery number!

I just received an offer for a "Triple room in a suite." That means a regular triple, right? Btw, my lottery number was 57.

Is is worth a try to exchange the dorm with someone in the units?
cuz stern seems really far from the FPF building...and there're not many freshmans, are there?

so since i did not recieve a housing contract yet, does this mean i'm unlikely to get one at all (meaning they wont even send me an email)? On one of the emails i did recieve, it said they sent out approx 350 housing contracts to FPF, but on another it said that there would be contract cancellations throughout August and that some might get a contract offering then (but they recommended lottery numbers 150 and up seriously consider other options) Anyone in the same situation? My lottery number is 355 so i dunno whether i can still hold out any hope that i might get a late contract for the dorms in August. (or do they send out 350 housing contracts with the assumption that there would be cancellations and so are not offering any more?)
And are cal-rentals or co-ops filling up fast? If anyone is looking for an apt roomate, PM me please.

Umm, no, that means a triple in a suite. You're still in a room with two other people, but the rooms are in a suite-style instead of a hallway style. So you won't be sharing a bathroom with the whole hall but you'll share it with maybe 3, 4 other rooms that are enclosed in a "suite". A floor might have several suites. You can't get into other suites (it's locked) so it's not as social as hallway style, but on the other hand people tend to get pretty close to their suitemates...or get into bitter fights with, I've heard both. Overall it's not that different.

Yeah of course.

I think it's worth trying to exchange for a unit, but the main thing is being able to get in. It's mostly all freshmen, just like other dorms.

I'm not gonna lie...it's pretty far. Walking might take 30-40 minutes. There's a bus you can take though. After your first semester is over it'll get better.

Well, that means you didn't get an offer initially. More spots DO open up every year but it might be around...20 - 100 spots (rough guess). So usually if you don't get a spot, start looking for other options.
