Good for you. Hope you enjoy FPF.

You'll be fine. Even if you send it in today I think you'll make it in. But just to answer your question for the sake of answering it, there's always Berkeley City College nearby.

I think that question was already covered in this thread, but anyway, if both you and your friend requested each other on the housing app that you submit, then usually your chances of getting each other are pretty good.

do you need to submit your SIR in order to get any kind of FPF confirmation?

When do you pick your dorms (if you are a spring admit, and not going to FPF)?
Do you pick it at the end of the fall semester..which mean that you get crappy dorms left over? Guaranteed housing for spring admits, hopefully?

The deadline for application for housing for spring admits (non-FPF) is October 1. It doesn't mean you get crappy dorms left over, it means you get whatever dorms are available. Spots open up and they could be good ones or bad ones. Anyway, another thread mentioned something about guaranteed housing for spring admits/FPF students in the spring but I don't see it on the Cal Housing website so until someone says different I'm going to say that housing for the first year for spring admits/FPF students is not guaranteed. Your second year is, though.

I sent my EPF form from So Cal via priority mail on Saturday, how long should it take to be confirmed on their site? I have a friend who sent it Saturday via regular mail and his next-steps check box is checked, but he submitted his SIR already

I came across this:

Quote:
(1) In addition to fall 2006 admits, UC Berkeley admitted 2,229 freshman applicants to the spring 2007 semester.

http://www.universityofcalifornia.ed...files_ucb.html

This seems to imply that spring admits are not included in the released admissions rate.
