it's BERKELEY. everyone's dream school on this particular forum. of course we're going to overspeculate. we get in, we'll be happy to be right. we get rejected, we get over it. whatever .let us overanalyze lol

My D got the "worth the wait" letter -- she was rejected by Davis and UCLA. Pretty crappy of UCB sending out hope to people they are about to reject.

mpebbles--If it is a generic email, I am actually mad. it is really low of CAL to string kids along only to dump them

I got rejected from both Davis AND LA too, but I got into San Diego, USC, and NYU. So who cares about cow university, and LA?

We were thinking of petitioning Berkeley for some type of "shout-out," so here is the e-mail. Feel free to send it

G'day sir/ma'am. I write to you with the utmost hope that you will take into consideration a plea from the Berkeley board at Collegeconfidential.com (the number one source for incredible students, check out user hopefullybright, that girl is simply fantastic). As overachieving, dedicated students with far more important things to do during Easter weekend, these magnanimous students spent hours upon hours overanalyzing e-mails sent from your admissions office to thousands upon thousands of students. They decrypted your admissions notices and even gave the strange numbering at the bottom of your e-mails a title, "The CAL CODE." With prospective students such as these (the board has 221 posts and counting), you must be extraordinarily proud of your school, as you should, for it is a fine institution (remember user: hopefullybright, girl's a doll). All these poor, overworked students ask of you is a notice on your admissions page. A tiny section dedicated to these young Sherlock Holmes enthusiasts. Please, post a notice on the page. I imagine it would go something like this:

"Thank you CCers for being the most overanalyzing bunch of obsessed, college-hungry, students the world has seen (so far). Please send us pictures of your saddened, shocked, or otherwise emotional faces when you realize that you analysis was completely and utterly incorrect.
Without any regard for your contempt,
The Cal Admissions office."
