lol well if you guys want to try to figure that out, i have gmail as well and i received email #3. and my last name starts with a Y.
& saasaa: what do you mean when you say #3 emails are rejects who did not receive #2 email? does that mean #3 ppl are only accepted if they also received the #2 email?

okay, not to add to the confusion, but here goes.
received email 3. checked account regularly. my status is in review.
accepted to ucd, ucsb (honors and regents), ucsd, uci and ucla (honors).
friend is regents scholar at ucb, yet she has not received any of the forementioned emails.
i thought it was ucb's way of telling me to stop checking and be patient.

I know this is slightly off-topic, but what still befuddles me is the fact that they would tell rejects that a rejection is "worth the wait" because that is just plain mean.

wow...so heres what i think.
Although i wish that email 3 was a likley letter...and the fact thatv they sent out 3 diff versions of the same email i really dont think it means anything
my stats are soo low for CAL
1760, 3.8
but my ECs are good.
on varsity dance for 3 years won nationals twice
involved in American sign Language
lots of community service
and my mom went there
also went through maajor surgery junior year
honestly i have no chance of getting into CAL
but i got email #3
but this thread is amusing and gives me some hope hehe

| I smell contradiction...
And you simply can't seriously say there's only 1 email? We've seen at least three different kinds in this thread alone.

It seems pretty mean that Cal would do this, but we can't just assume they're kind-hearted and such... Maybe they just said "we're worth the wait!" because they know how great they are. Besides, they always (or at least always try to be) last to release their decisions, so it's obvious that Cal is quite confident about the applicants matriculating their school. Anyway, Cal can do whatever they want and even toy with our minds (which is actually happening now as it seems). I think we're all overanalyzing this situation because we have so much hope that it may possibly be a likely letter, and who knows, maybe it is! Like many have said earlier, all we can do is wait. I know three days feels like such a long time, but we have to pull it through!

another reason i dont think this is a likely letter is because more than half the people in this thread have gotten it.

^ true, however one must remember that ucb does admit 10,000+/- students every year. the number of people that say they have received the email does not come close to the number of students that will be admitted this year.

That's what i was thinking...
Why would soo many people get it if it's a likely letter...I mean we're talking about UC Berkeley here. Would they take in so many people? These are the people on CC, but think about everyone else that applied who says "yeah I got the 'likely' letter". It couldn't be a likely letter that everyone got..that's a little suspicious ...think about it...
It just makes no sense.
At this point. Page 31 ...of this LONG thread, we can debate over it a million more times...but the only thing that'll make everything certain is the letter on March 27...........................
(cross your fingers!)
