stephnieme, I'm with you on that and that's why I started posting on this thread because I thought the email meant something. But the more posts I read, the more doubtful I felt about Berkeley, but I already kinda did since I was rejected from UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB, but I was accepted to UCD, which I am totally fine with, but I just really wanna know about UCB since I also received email #3. I was hoping the email would mean something, but now I'm not so sure. All we can do is wait for Thursday and see if we actually figured it out or not.

$gymgirl - look at post#169 by dnduswo - it exactly says the content of #1 and #3
#2 is a mystery for everyone.
Don't get anxious about all this if you got nothing. It probably means nothing by random lists that their sever used. Goodluck on Thurs...

Yeah, I agree. But Berkeley is pretty much my last hope.

I really wonder why I didn't get into Davis though. It seems as though many less qualified students got in, while many of the more qualified students were denied.

@gymgirl18:
#1 is just a reminder to set up your password
#2 tells u that the decision is out 3/27, but w/out the "worth the wait" phrases.
#3 is the same as #2 but with the "worth the wait".(and ppl are assuming that this can mean acceptance)

but no one is sure, everything discussed here is just assumption.

good luck!

I don't think that they're necessarily TOUGH, I think they're just really RANDOM. Look at UCLA's admits...I've heard a lot of students with 2200+ SAT scores and great ec's getting rejected. Then there's me with a pathetic 1910 getting in...though I do have good ec's, but still.

yayitsjane: To be honest, my stats are not really Berkeley status (3.7 UW GPA, not sure about UC weighted GPA, 2000 SAT), but I did write really good essays and I had pretty strong ECs, including being a varsity golfer since frosh yr and captain of the 2nd ranked team in the state LOL so I'm not totally expecting to get in, but it would be nice if I did cuz I really like Berkeley

steph: i think thats true for a lot of UCs this year. i mean, ucla accepted a lot of below average students this year as well. but that just means we all still have some hope for berkeley right?

my stats are definitely way below the average for berkeley and now that i read my essays again, i don't like them x_x as for ECs, i have work experience, community service hours, and i'm an officer of a film club at school... but thats basically it so its nothing extraordinary.

Precisely. I agree with the random thing. I wish they'd stick with well qualified though, rather than random.

Good luck to everyone on Thursday!

If we've learned anything from Davis and LA's acceptances this year, it's that admissions indeed are more random... don't give up hope!

Yupp!! All of you are AMAZINGLY qualified people and I'm sure I'll end up being the one who gets rejected!! LOL but just remember that it's not always because of your academics...sometimes the UCs need balance and it also depends on what your major is, so yeah!!
