Berkeley should never have sent out the e-mail. No one panicked in my year cause we never got a notification.

Just chill. It's two days. Not that hard to wait on.

This is strange - it is a glitch I suppose, but a lot missed it, that's for sure. Maybe Berkeley's Comp. Sci. isn't as good as we thought, eh?

WOW...this is seriously hilarious!!!! I just have to say that now after fully relishing the last 38 pages of intense analysis, i would totally give all of you a FIVE (if this was an AP English Test)...completely mind blowing!!! But seriously, this is mass hysteria. I mean common we are analyzing a freaking email!!! Not only that we are analyzing the following words: "we're worth the wait." who got a "#3" versus who got a "#2" or why on earth did she not get an email versus but he's not "qualified" for that school and yet he got it...this is all fun to read but after 38 pages it gets to the point where it seems like "if i don't get into Berkeley, my life will be over." Frankly speaking getting into college is no longer as black and white as it was before and there's a lot of "factors" that play a large role in a student's acceptance, whether that be for Berkeley or Davis. All we as student can do is try out best and hope that our efforts will be adequately rewarded. Sure there are upsets - a college can't be 100 percent correct in its decision process...but the point is it is not longer in our hands to decide whether we got in or not, so then what is point of all this nonsense about email analysis. I just want to say that getting a #3 or a #2 or a #1 really shouldn't be anyone's reason for high hopes or crushed motivation... i mean one fact remains certain...we will ALL know by the 27th...there's no point making all these theories...theories only make sense if u have facts to really prove them otherwise they are nothing but words jumbled together!

So let me end on this note: i absolutely enjoyed reading this entire thread...some of the comments actually made me smile...even laugh out loud at times...but why don't we let time ultimately decide the future and not let some email govern our lives...

Wait, so this question has been asked 5 million times but I just want to be sure...

When UCB says we'll receive our letters on the evening of March 27...is there a specific time that we should definitely get it? ..or would it be just around the evening time. I'm asking because I think I read somewhere on this thread that they come out 5 pm

celfonesaregreat: now now, let's be nice and try to empathize with those who are stressed from not receiving an email of any type. personally i do not believe that there is any meaning to the emails, other than being a friendly reminder, but i also do not appreciate the wording or suggestion that the recipients wait to accept another offer, only to possibly be denied admission. i think it did raise hopes for those whose first choice is Cal, and could easily be misconstrued. finally, let's remember that the direct purpose of this thread is to discuss the email, and what has since been revealed as several different versions. if these discussions calm or relieve those anxiously awaiting the
27th, so be it. let those who need to vent, have a forum in which to do so. belittling their angst during this stressful time is inappropriate and kind of mean.

We have been getting all these rumors and hopes that for the people that received the "please wait to hear from UC Berkeley: we're worth the wait!" email might have a chance to get accepted to the school.

Well here is what I think of it please let me know if you guys have a second opinion.

First of all I asked my friends that most likely won't have a chance to make it to UCB and they said no they didn't receive it. I asked my friends that has a chance to UCB and they got the email, including my self.

So then I was wondering why would they send it to some applicants and not the others. First I thought maybe because they didn't make an account on the UCB site thats why they didn't get it but then I asked my friends that didn't get the email and they said they made an account when they got notified that UCB received their application.

I asked another guy he didn't get to make it to UCLA, UCSD, and he got the email so I am thinking there might be a chance that email must MEAN SOMETHING cause lets say you do get accepted to UCLA and UCSD and the reason why UCB sends you a COMING SOON email and especially when they say "we're worth the wait!" must mean you got accepted some way and they want to remind you to check out the decision before you make your pick on the UC's.

Let me know what you guys think about this or can some one just email or call the school and ask what the email means ?

Another point the link: http://students.berkeley.edu/admissi...al.asp?id=3677 is meant for students who has a chance to get accepted and they would email it to some applicants, that I think has a chance to get accepted.

Idk ;[] I am going to go nuts about this email if I don't get accepted that email is going to be the end of me cause of it wasting my time lol.
