After ignoring doing my homework and skimming and reading some of the posts here, I'm finally on page 39, and I hope this is the last page.

FYI, I got #3 from Berkeley

...got rejected from UCLA (I also had the supplemental application).

Ahh 2 more days!

Okay, if you got the supplement questionnaire from UCB a while ago and really made sure you did good on it --with a really good rec. ........ how much does it "boost" your chances of being admitted?

(remember, before this you're borderline..and you get another chance to really extend your essay +more with this questionnaire)

anyone have any ideas?

Atmani8, I've been making an effort to ask around, making connections to other people who have relatives, friends, or just someone they know of who got in to Berkeley with a supplement questionnaire. What all of them told me is that they got it (take note: I only asked if they got in and if they got the questionnaire). I mean, we're in the "borderline" aka MAYBE pile, meaning they want us, but they can't really decide YET, that's why they want to know more info about you. Also, it could mean that in the application, you did not provide much information so that's why they want to ask you.

I'm hopeful right now, because I got rejected from UCLA, but got in to UCSD, UCD and UCI (all from College of Engineering) with a low SAT/ACT scores, but stellar extracurricular activities.
----

xxfly4lyfxx, my grades were bad (2.8 GPA with 4 AP classes), so that's probably one of the reasons why I was denied admission).

I don't know.. we'll see what happens. =]

i had a 3.6 weighted, but 2.6 unweighted cuz im only taking ap classes (5). i also got into UCSD and UCI, rejected by LA. those are only UC's i applied to. I think I got denied from UCLA is the low semester grades. i dunno how this will affect UCB, but CAL didnt ask for suppl. application. I got #3 so im very anxious to see what happens with CAL

MoreThanWords, I also asked around and people who I know from SoCal told me that everyone at their school who received a questionnaire and did a good job writing it got in to Berkeley. This was seriously a convo I had with someone

"Wait, you got the questionnaire?"
"yeah" (me)
"Ok. You're in then"

just like that. but obviously you have to have a good rec. and your writing should have been thoughtful etc.

Plus, I had really low scores, but good grades. My extracurricular activities were really good & my essays were strong. If anything my essays, extracurriculars + grades got me in (which will hopefully happen). My scores just put me way below...

good luck tho!

You know what, I am tired of constantly checking this thread for any chances of hope that not receiving an email doesn't mean anything. It's distracting me from my studies, and it's just not worth it (yeah, just came to realize). Plus, I'm not getting any answers; my hopes keep flip flopping because people are bringing good arguments and support for each side--that the emails mean something and that the emails are superfluous. We only have about a day left. I'll just expect the worse and see what happens.

Someone suggested this in an earlier post already, but yeah, we should come back to this thread after Thursday evening and state whether we got an email or not and if we were rejected or admitted...just so that if Berkeley screws up like this again, future applicants can refer to this for answers.

I will pray for the best for everyone. This was a fun thread, I suppose. Perhaps 10 years from now, we will log into our CC accounts and come back to this thread and laugh about it.

I would also like to hear which college everybody will decide to attend! Please come back and post your final comment onto this thread after decisions are posted!! Good luck to you all.

With best regards,
yayitsjane

One more day! Good luck everyone!

And on the usual Accept/Spring/Reject thread, be sure to include #1,2,3, or neither =)
