in poetry, theres something called overanalysis. Its when you look for themes and symbols etc etc when it is not intended to be seen as such or not even present at all.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE!!!
got one...no big whoop

It's okay. I freaked out when I didn't get it, but I got the email at 2 this morning. They're probably going down some list or something. :-) It looks like a mass email.

It would be a very mean email if those getting it are rejected.

I'm freaking out now. Probably for no reason; but Cal is numero uno on my list of 18 schools.

OOS (Michigan); last name begins with R; think I'll be rejected (I don't think my essays were that good, and there's nothing else amazing to rescue me); haven't gotten an email yet
It isn't like the email says anything really new though, so I'm not too worried; more perplexed.

Got the email. Rejected at my 'dream school' UCLA, expecting rejection here as well.

I got one, but it doesn't mean a thing, expecting a rejection.

I got it. It seems kind of weird that they'd send this to all applicants though. I mean, why tell people "Don't reply to other schools yet; Berkeley is worth the wait" if they're going to be rejected?
I didn't think I'd get in...OOS. (Got into UCLA though, so I dunno.)
It would be misleading to send this to people who are going to be rejected, I think.
I'm either going to be very happy or pretty pis sed off come Thursday...

"Freshman decisions for fall 2008 will be announced on March 27!
We know you're hearing from other University of California campuses, but before you give them your reply, please wait to hear from UC Berkeley: we're worth the wait!"
I think it'd be odd if they sent this and they're going to reject you. Sure some people with low stats (perhaps including myself) are getting it, but people got into UCLA with 1700 SATs, so you never know. Has anyone called/emailed them? I'm becoming curious...

i think everyone who got it are accepted. because they specifically mentioned your name at the beginning of the email, and they also allude to the fact that "berkeley is worth the wait"
i already got into ucla and ucsd. So I think this is a "likely email"

^ Agree... A rejection isn't really "worth the wait".

Yes, the specific name mentioned at the beginning is interesting. I think UCSC and UCSB also sent something out a week before decisions.
