Berkeley Appeals & Housing

I got my ass rejected from Berkeley but appealed.
I'm not being hopeful because it is extremely difficult for an appeal to cal to go through, (I heard it was 29 out of 1000 last year).

"Decisions on appeals may not be issued until after May 1, 2008."

Okay, there's still that 2% chance that an appeal may go through, and they're saying that they may not notify you until after May 1st.
BUT--
The deadline to register for Berkeley Housing is May 3rd.

so does that mean that if you're not notified on time you won't get housing or something? Yikes

Rejected students can appeal to get in for Spring.
Spring admitted students can appeal to get in for Fall.
