nothing here either. strange, apparently people from my county have already been accepted, waitlisted, and rejected, as well as many others still waiting.

i called them up and they said that after may 1st we will receive notification...thats completely ridiculous...maybe they are getting lazy on those students who already submitted their SIR (like me). i guess if I hadn't they would have tried to tell me beforehand so I can make a more informed decision....

gayyyyyyy

My D is still undecided about going to Cal and I hoped their decision to give or not to give her that award might help her somehow ... not letting people know about award BEFORE May 1 IS completely ridiculous.

Should we call them?

I agree with myau and santa - Every private school is waving carrots at kids. I hear Cal and UCLA have been beefing their recruitment efforts past few years. Yes, the Alum. Scholarship is not big money, but sure can sway decisions (given merit aid is almost non-existant at Cal). At the very least it should be done and complete a week before SIR. Looks like every year they tend to inform about it a day or 2 before SIR deadline. What's the point if the kids have already made up their mind. Makes one wonder if they are looking at whether you file SIR and then go "Oh, by the way, we will give you some money for the right decision you made"
Kind of upside down I would say!

Hope the Alum Assn. meets, discusses this and has a well defined schedule for all districts next year.
