Am I screwed over for enrolling in classes if I attend the last CalSO date?

I was admitted to the College of Natural Resources and we have 4 CalSO dates:

June 16-17 (last two days of my last week of high school...don't want to miss)

June 20-21 (June 20 is my graduation)

June 23-24 (I checked it 15 minutes ago and it was still open...refreshed the page 5 minutes later...and it's full. DARNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

June 27-28 (My only option)

I know that enrolling in classes at CalSO is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE and I don't want to be screwed since I'll be attending the last CalSO date.

Any advice? Is attending the earliest possible CalSO date absolutely critical to obtain the classes you want? Or is everyone pretty much able to get the classes they want?

I'll consider missing my last two days of high school if attending the last CalSO session will truly screw me over for enrollment in classes...maybe.

Any advice about anything is appreciated! Thank you!

Hopefully, what they do is allot certain spots for EACH CalSO date, and not make it all you can eat for the first day...

This is probably one of the most common worries for new students. Most new freshmen are taking classes like Chem 1A or Math 1A which will still have lots of space until Phase 2 - so the CalSO you come to isn't that big of a deal. Some people on College Confidential will make a big deal about getting into a specific lab or discussion section, but don't buy into that hype. I went to CalSO in July and got into everything I needed in my first year - it actually turned out better because Cal already had my AP scores so I could enroll in English 1A (some friends who went earlier couldn't because their AP scores hadn't input into TeleBEARS yet).

Yeah, it doesnt really matter. Also, you can sign up for classes before Calso if you really wanted to.

Unless you are in the College of L&S. They have an advisor code that is mandatory to register with Telebears, but the AC is only given during the CalSO or afterwords if you can't attend any of them.

As I recall, all the CalSOs use the same adviser code. And after the 1st Calso, the code was floating around. (at least last year)

Don't worry about it too much. I attended CalSO in July (the last one offered) and I still got into the courses that I wanted to.

you guys should start using esc.frozeninflames.net to start planning your schedules. You'll have to account for some of your classes potentially getting full.
