Freshmen Course Selection

Just to clarify, freshmen going to Berkeley during Fall 2008 pick classes at CalSO, and not before, correct?
I've been hearing about some classes being filled aready and/or using some sort of website to pick.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about CalSo but I think you're correct.

Some classes are getting filled up already. For students already attending Berkeley, Phase I telebears started already and lasts for a couple of weeks. I have to sign up for classes tomorrow and some sections are already booked solid.

If an upper-division class is listed as 15/50 filled as of now, what is the likelihood of it still being available July 15th as Phase 1 ends? I don't expect any freshman to sign up for it during CalSO as it's fairly specific and mundane in subject nature.

wait, so when DO freshmen sign up for classes?

and are only the upper level classes being filled or are all classes (intro included) being filled too?
That would suckkk.

History C175B- "This is the fourth course in a four-course sequence in the history of Jewish culture and civilization. "
It doesn't list any prereqs but it looks like you might want to start with the first in the sequence?
Probably will stay empty.

Freshman sign up for classes at CalSO

All the intros are really big so you should not have a problem getting them phase I at CalSO.

last year it was possible to sign up before calso. it told you you needed an advisor code, but if you ignored it, signed up from schedule.berkeley.edu "view telebears info" or whatever it is and hit the buttons that were hittable, it would let you in.

It is not a good idea to try to take an upper div class as a first semester freshman without talking to the professor beforehand.

all class selection is done through telebears (telebears.berkeley.edu) though it's easier to go through schedule.berkeley.edu and find the appropriate links to add classes via telebears on it. all class selection at calso is is them plopping you down in front of a computer in a lab and saying log on to telebears.

the huge lectures will probably not be filled. but many of the reading and composition classes will be. your phase I is during calso and phase II is in july or august.
