My friend will be attending Davis the coming fall as an econ major, and obviously that is not the ideal school to study econ in. I wonder if it is possible for her to transfer from Davis to Berkeley, maybe during or after the general eds. Her past few years have been really rough -- death of a parent, family financial crisis, and now getting rejected by her safety schools. I told her that she should try to transfer to Berkeley in the future, but I just want make sure on my side that I am not getting her hopes up right now. I've heard in the past that people would rather attend community colleges to get a better chance to transfer to a good UC than attending a lower-end UC and then transfer. However, two very smart people from my year right now, who got into schools like USC, are planning to attend Riverside and then transfer to LA or Berkeley. So, how hard is it actually to transfer between the UC's?
