FPF Housing

Lottery numbers are out although assignments will come out on monday. I am 165 and they said that 150 and above has a really low chance of getting housing.

raw deal

Thanks CAL Housing! 500 FPF students are now out there scrambling for housing because CAL Housing urged FPF students to take the "wait & see" approach and not get other housing until after mid- July because it would offer dorm space to 50% of the FPFers. 150 out of 650 means you had less than a 1 in 4 shot of getting a dorm space. Bad odds that should have been revealed when college decisions were being made not in mid-July when you're locked into CAL.

Don't worry you guys aren't missing out. I was #21 on the waitlist and I thought I would get something good, but I got Bowles. Bowles.

Continuing Students just got emails asking if we'd like to cancel our dorms without incurring fees (waive penalty), for the first 75 students who agree. I know some friends that are going to do it since they were able to find housing, but the purpose of the e-mail is to help you guys get housing, so they are trying!

gdalepolo, Bowles is a great place to live. I lived in Bowles last year. I made a conscious decision to live in Hillside next year when I could have chose to go back to Bowles. I am starting to regret my decision...

Bowles is a very, very social place and given the fact that everyone minus the six RAs and the 15/16 mentors is a freshman makes the experience very unique.

Bowles has the lowest population of any dorm hall. There are about 199 beds in Bowles. (Each unit dorm hall has 240, Stern has 300/+, don't have numbers for Foothill). Bowles also gets you the most square feet per dollar of any dorming option.
