You two have to list each other (make sure to get each others' SIDs) and have all the exact same preference rankings and listings for housing.

You can contact housing if you and the person you want to room with are assigned to teh same unit with same type (i.e., you both got assigned Unit 3 doubles).

uh...you were supposed to do it back BEFORE you were assigned your housing. You were supposed to list each other when you were listing your housing preferences. Because now that you've been assigned, they can't just kick people out to move people around. Room numbers have been assigned; your roommate has been assigned. It's not easy to just move poeple around.

I've heard of someone doing this before: just call or email housing (the general contact info is ok) and say this person has the same housing assignment and we want to room and they'll tell you if you can do it or not b/c i THINK housing assignments were done earlier this year than last

You were suppose to do this way back when you applied for housing. All the students have, by now, all been assigned rooms and I doubt you'll be able to get your request. I'd still call and ask, that couldn't hurt.
