How many graduate schools do Cal students usually apply to?

How many graduate schools do UC Berkeley students usually apply to?

It probably depends on the degree/major...but I'm thinking of nursing. I heard that most people only apply to about 2-3 graduate schools...is this true?

Thanks!

It really, really depends on the field. Really.

Competitive English programs, for example, have ~5% acceptance rate. You aren't likely to bank on 2-3 schools -- the average (which always have their outliers, of course) number of applications tends to be nearer to 10 or 15.

I don't know what nursing programs tend to accumulate, but have you tried looking at the Career Center website? They tend to have pretty specific information about what Cal graduates do.

nursing generally isn't considered graduate school (even though people get masters' degrees in it) but health professional school. I would think that you probably should apply very broadly. In a ****ty economy, a larger number of people seek post-graduate education meaning you will be facing more competition
