Make your own study sheets. Be able to compare and contrast between different organisms and whatnot.
Memorizing everything in the lab manual allows you to verbal diarrhea everything that you saw, but you won't be able to think about the questions critically.
Also, some GSI's are devious sluts who put the most random things in the lab exam. For example, putting a pickle in a jar and asking some ******** questions about it.

I would think looking at the online study guides that they posted would help a lot since they are pictures of "real" dissections and not paper drawings that look perfect. HAHAHA tastybeef how could you ask a question on a pickle??

I heard the 2nd midterm is usually the one that kills everyone. A lot of my friends told me that I should do well on the first midterm so I have a leeway on the practical.

I wonder how much the practical will be counted for in terms of making an average between all the sections. Since the GSIs write them, there's gotta be some evenness or else some sections would be screwed over -- cough cough.

if you did well on the quizzes and on the first exam, it shouldn't be too bad for you. I only got slightly above average on my lab final and still got an A-.
The bioinformatics questions are arguably the worst part of the test, as they require the most thinking and are rather difficult to do on the fly...
When I took it, station 1 and 15 were rest stations, and stations 2-6 were bioinformatics. I started on station 7... those last 5 stations, totally ****ed me over...

haha what exactly is "well" on the quizzes? Like above the section average or actually like 4/5 and 5/5?

Meh what if you did average of the first midterm, but on the quizzes always do above average with half of the quizzes getting about a standard deviation or more above the average? From the breakdown my GSI gave us (>3.1 = A) I should have an A in lab quizzes. I just want to get a B at least for the class....damn you meighan -___-'
