Borrowing a Book from the Library

I wanted to borrow a book from the Business and Economics library. It is a text book for one of my econ classes. I looked up the call number on library catalog online and then went there to find both copies missing, despite being "in library". Is there a way to hold the book online and then pick it up in the library? Then I don't have to search for the misplaced or hidden book.

I think your best shot is to talk to the librarians there. You never know, they might have moved the books to somewhere else. I'm not sure if there is a way to have them hold the book online.

most likely the books you wanted are still in but were misshelved by some idiots (thats why they put carts every 5 feet away from each other so students dont do stupid things like that)

i would notify the librarians-they can prbly still find them

you can put a hold online. if it's already on hold, you're probably not going to get it anytime soon. the library is good at sending out ninja assassins that will pester you and give you angry phone calls about the missing book in question. just say you will restore your honor by committing seppuku and they will leave you alone.

Don't be so naive. Someone is saving money by using the library's copy and "misplaces it" so they can use it while in the library. It's a move as old as time.

So if I put a hold on it, they will search for it?

Since it's a textbook, there's a chance that your prof already put it on hold, so you can only get it from the librarian. Or someone took it.

I'm not completely sure, but if you put it on hold they might tell you when it turns up, but probably not look for it.
