Questions on process of getting into Haas?

On the berkeley website:

"Haas School of Business
Business Administration: only available to junior transfers; freshman applicants must apply to the College of Letters and Science, Undeclared—Pre-Business Administration"

Now I cannot find "Pre-Business Administration" under CLS.
1. Do I get accepted into Haas as a freshman, but I attend CLS for 2 years OR I get accepted to CLS and still have to apply to Haas (risking rejection)?
2. Do they force you to be undeclared in CLS, or can I join Engineering so I have something to fall back on if I don't make it to Haas.
3. For students that are eventually denied from Haas, did Berkeley just leave them undeclared with NOTHING?!

Please list the process of getting into Haas, eg:
1. Apply to __________?
2. Accepted to ________?
3. Study __ years, fulfill requirements
4. Apply to Haas

Thanks!

You apply sophomore year to Haas and they let you know in February if you have made it. Everyone who applies has a fallback major, usually Econ (because the pre-reqs overlap for a lot of the courses). You are never fored to be undeclared; upon acceptance, you fill out forms to switch colleges from L&S to Haas. You are allowed to double major, so if you wanted to pursue Engineering in the engineering college, you could do that as well

As for the process:
1. Take pre-reqs freshman/sophomore year. Fulfill all reqs by spring of sophomore year (work on fall-back major as well)
2. Apply to Haas in the fall of your sophomore year, December I believe
3. Condition Acceptances/Rejections come out in February
4. Spring grades are checked and you are actually admitted

Okay thanks! I have some more questions that I'm unclear about:

1. Could I apply to College of Engineering, THEN apply to Haas for Junior year?
Or must Haas applicants only come from L&S? I don't want to double major. That way I can fall back into Engineering, or go into business, but I don't want both.

2. If the above option IS possible, how much extra work would I have to do to meet Haas prereqs? (eg. if 80% overlap, then 20% courses extra to meet prereqs)

3. When you get accepted to Haas, do you not continue/not receive degree from first college? Eg. give up BSEcon, or BEngineering?

4. How different is Econ from L&S than BBA from Haas, in terms of material, job prospects, and prestige?

Thank you so much!

I'm not sure you'll have to take the pre-requisites for BOTH majors. Econ and Haas are about 75% overlap (at least for the pre-reqs).
