Aggie down - need help!!!

UC Davis is awesome. I love the college town environment, the atmosphere, the people, etc. I know good social life will come with good people, but how much is actually going on in Davis? It's a college town, very close to Sacramento, blah blah blah...current students: what can you do for fun? where should I visit when I come this week? do you have a lot/enough/whatever to do around UCD? Thanks so much everyone.

Oh hey, does anyone remember an old show on MTV called Sorority LIfe? UC Davis was the school they filmed at and those girls always seemed have somethign to do (be it a bar, party, coffee place etc..)

That's all the clubs, bars, etc. That's the night life. For freshman, they usually have OG dances/formals.

there is nothing to do in davis. the fun they were having on sorority life was at one of the two bars in town. there are no clubs. as for things to do...you can always go play with the cows.

god i hate davis. i hope i get out of here.

Party people who have to be constantly doing something don't like Davis. Davis is a really chill place. If you want to go out & have a good time you can go to the bars to hang out (whether you drink or not).. or to the grad for some dancing (they have some 18 & over nights)

I didn't watch sorority life when it was at Davis, it was a year before I got here. There are only a few bars & obviously it's MTV so they make it look more exciting than it actually is.

Thanks Batman, that's ironic that I'm YOUR hero, since you are Batman. HA. What made me choose Davis? Well, I'm a pretty chill relaxed person. I like clubbin and partying, but too much makes my head hurt. For that LONG gap period between submitting apps, and getting acceptances, I visited Berk, LA, Davis, Irvine four of the six I applied to.

UCSB, even though I applied, was out. Too much of a party atmosphere.

UCSD, even though I applied, was out. Too little going on.

Irvine, already heard it was a commuter school, and while I visited, there was nothing going on.

Berk, eek, I'm from the suburbs of San Jose, so I dabble in the downtown scene, but cot damn. I'm afraid that I'll get jumped there. And I've seen my fair share of "street thugs." I was afraid of the weirdos playing the guitars.

So I was down to LA and Davis, LA probably my 1, and Davis as my 1.5

LA was kinda far, and I'll admit I would've missed my mom. HA, I'm a softie.

So I chose Davis. Parties, but not too much. Chill, but not too chill. Far, but not too far. Everything was balanced for me. Plus, Davis has Nor Cal on lock. And "I'm Nor Cal born, Nor Cal bred, and when I die, I'll be Nor Cal dead."

The Grad is pretty crackin on Wednesdays, I like hip hop and there's nothing better than a crackin club!

Prophasi, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Thanks for the knowledge in my Man. Econ thread as well. Yeah, I'm not going to give the reasons why I like UCD for the millionth time, just trust me lol. I'll make sure I check out The Grad. I'm going to make sure I check out the social science/humanities dept., Shields Library, dorms (I'm feeling Segundo or Tercero...), the ARC, etc. as well. Thanks.

Looking for Prophasi...and anyone else that feels like making my day...

OK, that "DavisWiki: Night Time" link has like 732,114,032 entries. Other than The Grad, what spots are absolute "must sees?" Thanks much.

you can see movies, go bowling or biking, hug some trees, or worship some dirt. and be a liberal (i think davis is 80% liberal or something like that). i live here, so i'd know. but davis is really a nice town, very quaint, and college is what you make of it. and check out the toad tunnel. :-)
