True, but I'd like to know from personal experiences or from what you guys have heard from other students.

Bmbmasta is right, hard is a relative term. Personally, I don't think you should choose a major based on how "hard" it is, but rather on how much it interests you. I'm a Genetics major, and for me, it's not that hard. You definitely need to study, but the concepts come pretty easily to me.

Hey fooshy, do you know approximately when UC Davis sends students their financial aid money, like what month?

When you submit your FAFSA, they'll email you letting you know your rewards are ready, and you login to eFAN, and accept which rewards you want. I'm not sure which month you specifically get the money, because the grants and loans are usually spread out per quarter, not per year. https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/eAwards/login_dsp.cfm

Personally, I've only been bitten once by an insect, and I'm pretty sure it was a spider. I don't know if that accurately reflects the insect situation at Davis, but they've never really bothered me. Anybody else care to comment?

Personally, the classes here are a joke and the competition is a joke/non existent outside regent scholars and ISHP members. (I sound like an ass huh?) There are also few smart and talented students, although they are fairly rare from what I have seen. I am also referring to the intro science courses.
I don't mean to be an ass or anything, but that is how I feel.

Wow Bmbmasta... I'm a little surprised, not because of how you said it but just because I haven't gotten that impression from anyone else on this board or anyone I've talked to in person. That's not to say I think you're wrong... I suppose I'll just have to see for myself when I get there.

Well, thats how I view it. The only problem I've had in any class was in English (which I got an A-), which I hate. But yes, UC Davis so far has been easy and comparable to high school difficulty for me. Then again, I am suppose to be the top 1% of my class...so ya.

Biochemistry
BMB refers to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (the graduate program)
Mmm I see a counter argument to the difficulty of the courses. Please don't say upper division courses are going to get harder and my grades are going to drop. Why will this not matter? Because of something called a bell curve, which distributes grades relative to other students' performance. As of now, I think I can stay at the top of the curve for the next few years. Most classes here bell curve, and those that don't are easy enough to get an A in w/o a curve.

| Bmbmasta,
How were you prepared in high school? Were you in the I.B. program, or have all AP classes?
