One more question for UCD Admissions

If I have 60 units completed would that in turn give me 90 quarter units when I transfer to UCD or do I just have 60 units regardless?

Assuming your units are from the semester system, then yes 60 semester units is equivalent to 90 quarter units. You can always use

S= Semester Units, Q = Quarter Units
3S/2 = Q
or
2Q/3 = S

To figure out your units.

nothing

Thanks, that was kind of a dumb question. I should've looked it up myself. What if you have more than 60/90 units? I currently have 70 semester units and I still have 3 more classes to fill of UCD req's.

This depends on where the units came from. Although you won't course credit the maximum number of units we will give credit for up to 70 semester (105 quarter) units (note I didn't say max transferable because we will transfer all transferable units but only give credit for up to 105 quarter). To stick with equations since this seems like an equations thread:

Let C be the number of transferable units from a Community College (Two year school) and U be the number of units from a 4 year university. Then the number of credits that will be transfered are:

Q = C+U where 0<=C<=105 and 0<=U and all C, U are converted into quarter units.

Say a school on the semester system asks for 1 year of bio or 2 courses of chem, what does that equate to on the quarter system? Would it be 2 quarter classes or 3 quarter classes.

It would be 3 quarter classes. Cause 2 semesters = 3 quarters = 1 year.

Well, one course in a semester system would equal... I guess one and a half of a quarter? But all the counselors recommend either finishing the two semesters (that equal one year) or finishing the three quarters (that equals one year also).

So basically, it would be better if you took either at a semester school BIO101A and BIO101B, or at UCD BIS2A and BIS2B and BIS2B. I don't know what kind of school you're looking at... so I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for.

But for optometry school, the requirements state specifically how many quarters or how many semesters you need depending on which system your school goes on. Maybe contact the school for that information?
