I'm not... I'm taking a pre-calc class but I fear it won't go over all that well, so I'm not reporting it...

Unless you're taking it because you failed it in HS I don't see why they'd care.

lol...you don't even need to register. just go in and pretend to be a student. i do it all the time. just don't sign in, buy a coursebook, don't turn in your work, take your own notes, and get your free education.

i've done it plenty of times at de anza CC, school of 23,000. classes are upwards of 60...some classes don't even have a sign in sheet. i even ask questions in class lol.

if you do this, you don't even have to worry about it going on your record.

i'm assuming your just taking it to brush up on english...chances are this class probably isn't even transferable since your an incoming freshman. don't bother registering, you'll just risk getting a B.

it's not as if your cheating the system either...CC is free to california students anyways, and you would be doing the school a service by purchasing the course book.

also, did we need to inform them of scholarships we recieved because i recieved some that were checks that i could cash and some that i need to give to the school in order for me to get the money.

in that case, take the class and make two transcripts. one to send to them through the mail, and one as a backup.

in short, yes inform them. however you don't need to inform them until you have a final grade.

Davis english requirements (for the college of letter's & science majors):
* Pass a lower devision composition class: Eng 1, Eng 3, or NAS 5 (Native American Studies 5) -- I took NAS 5 because it also satisfies some GE requirements at the same time.
* Pass an upper devision composition course from a long list of classes or pass a writing test.

If you take the equivalent of Eng 1 at a community college, you could transfer the units over and get credit for it (check assist.org to see what's transferable)

assist.org says sac city's ENGWR 300 = Expository Writing (GE:W) at Davis. so i guess that would fulfill my English Composition, as well as 1 Writing requirement?! If i belong to A&ES, all i would need is one lower division English course & 1 English Composition course right? Thanks for your help!

you can't have it satisfy both GE writing & english composition at the same time. If you want it to count as english composition then it won't count as GE, etc. It may satisfy arts & humanities GE though.

(UC Davis recently changed to naming the classes that fullfill writing requirements to UWP - university writing program - so excuse my notation, I'm stuck on the old system since I'm a 4th year... same basic requirements, just that I call the classes ENG 1 & ENG 3 instead of whatever they are now in UWP)
