Opting out of housing program?

Is it possible to opt out of a housing ATP theme program? The seminar required for it does not fit into my schedule. I've tried looking for other courses to replace the current one conflicting with the required seminar, but I can't find any that would fit in to my other classes. The thing is, that the two classes overlap by only 20 minutes, so maybe it is ok if I am late to the seminar? It's P/NP so that may help.

On a side note, I think it is a little unreasonable to send emails this late regarding the required seminar after everyone as already picked out classes a full month ahead...I've also bought the expensive textbook for my conflicting class so i'm relunctant to drop it ... =(

What do you suggest I do?

Thanks.
