Bills and Books Help

1. How do you pay for bills on EBills with financial aid money? When I click "Pay", it asks for my bank account information. Do I still need to put in my information even if I have no money in my bank account and my financial aid is enough to pay for everything?

2. I am part of the Blue and Gold Opportunity plan(meaning your financial aid should pay for fees, like registration and housing), so where does the money from this plan show up? On Ebills? Because I am short of financial aid to pay for my bills. How you pay your fees using this money?

3. How do you pay for books using your financial aid money? Housing?

Thanks

I'm a new transfer this fall so don't take my word for it but...

Financial Aid automatically pays for registration fees and their health care thing. I think they said they're dispersing that on the 15th, so by the 15th, all the registration bills and what not will be payed (I think this is done automatically). Not too sure if it automatically does it for housing stuff. If they don't automatically do it for housing (they might if you're in a dorm on campus) then look below.

After they pay for all that stuff (just registration and stuff), the remainder is given to you on the 21st either through direct deposit (if you signed up for it) or you can pick it up (probably at dutton hall). With the remaining amount, you can do whatever you want with it since its cash they give to you (now in your account or hands). So you can use the rest of it to pay for books or rent or whatever. If you have remaining bills on ebill website, you just pay through your bank account since thats where the remaining FA money should be.

You can check how much you get for FA on the myawards section of the UCD website. Then subtract registration fees, health care fees, housing fees, and thats probably how much you get to use on books, food, etc.

On the Ebills page, after logging in, select "Student Account"; that should show you a detailed listing of your fees and any aid that's already been applied to your account. That should let you know if your financial aid is properly being credited towards your fees. If it's not listed, you should be able to call the Financial Aid office and ask them what the issue is.

As an example, here's what my billing statement looks like (with personally identifying information scrubbed out; nobody should ever post ANYTHING that could identify you to the interwebs). At the top are the fees; below that is the $100 I paid to say "I'm coming" and is credited to my account; below that are my financial aid entries. Note that a negative number in "TOTAL DUE" means that they're going to be dropping money in my direct deposit account once Sept 21 rolls around (my aid currently exceeds my fees). If you have a negative amount showing there, you won't need to pay anything.

Code:
20-AUG-09 Summer Orientation Student Fee 85.00
21-AUG-09 Fall Quarter Registration Fees 3,105.65
21-AUG-09 Fall Student Health Ins (SHIP) 349.00
                         - CURRENT PAYMENTS -
         21-AUG-09 Statement Intent Reg-Fall 100.00
                      * CURRENT BILLED BALANCE *         3,439.65

                  (Loans) 3,483.00
                  (Scholarship) 1,000.00

Herman: I don't really know anything about housing; I'm a commuter. May want to just give someone a call on Monday (it's always more reliable to talk to someone at the school rather than random person on the web).

Yeah, I noticed that the website was down too haha.

Anyway, you call student accounting office:
UCDavis Student Accounting

I called them when I had a question about my fee payments and they were able to look up my FA and all my fees and tell me what i needed to do (or not do since I didn't need to do anything haha).
