i think all the uc campuses are great and they are all looking better and better and more modernized through the years. i would say the least appeaing are probably riverside and berkeley. berkeley is just the oldest campus and there's not a lot of space there. but both are still great schools and aren't "ugly" in any way....just not as great in respect to other campuses. ucla= gorgeous. i simply drove through ucla last summer and it looked so nice and big. davis= loootttss of space so they are able to expand as much as they want which is a big advantage over other campuses. ucsd= lot like davis but not as big. davis and sd are very green and environmental. uci is a commuter school so there's not very much green. but uci looks very modern and city-like. probably the opposite of ucd or ucsd. depends on what kind of life you like...urban or suburban i guess

"ucsd= lot like davis but not as big."

"ucla= gorgeous. i simply drove through ucla last summer and it looked so nice and big."

"uci is a commuter school so there's not very much green. but uci looks very modern and city-like. probably the opposite of ucd or ucsd."

I thought ucsd had the second biggest campus in the uc system(approx. 2000 acres), behind only ucsc. i would think it would be larger than davis. davis is inland, lots of farming and agriculture, ucsd is in la jolla in san diego on a cliff above the beach. i guess they are both green, but thats where the similarities end. Furthermore ucla has the smallest campus out of all the uc's, i believe it is about 500 acres. uci surrounds a huge park, which is at the center of the campus. it is very green. also if uci's architecture is modern, then how is ucsd's not. ucsd has the most modern architecture in the uc system. im not sure where you got your info from regarding all of this.

I thought that UCSD is second to Davis when it comes to land (Davis has approx 5000) UCSD also has random "art" everywhere which I always find kind of *interesting.

*edit//
"funny" was the wrong word to use and I used "interesting" instead.

ummmmmmm ucsc is half of davis...are you kidding me?

UC-Davis - 5993 acres
UC-Merced - little over 2000 acres
UC-Santa Cruz - 2000 acres
UC-San Diego - 1976 acres

where are you getting YOUR info from ucchris?
and yes ucla is the smallest uc campus in size...i didn't know that. i just briefly drove through it. shoot me. and please- uci is much less green than ucd. you see lots of cars in uci and much more bikes in davis...enough said. have you actually been to both campuses? and all i'm saying is that uci has become much more modern from previous years. i went on a tour of uci with my sister 8 years ago and the campus has a LOT more nice looking buildings. i'm not saying ucsd isn't modernized. just chill dude.

Campus size can be deceiving. UCLA is the smallest one, but I think they use like every square inch of space they can. Schools like Davis, on the other hand, don't use all the space for actual buildings and such because they have lots of farm and pasture land. In fact, I think they have some pretty tight restrictions on things like parking lot size and stuff, because the school wants to remain very strong in agriculture, so they're trying to avoid too much development.

Out of the UC's I've seen, I guess I would say UCI isn't the ugliest. Primarily, though, I just dislike the "modern" architecture. I think it's ugly. Overall it's not bad, though. UCLA looks pretty nice, and I remember Berkeley being pretty nice too. I like how green UCSD is, but again, the modern architecture irks me. Davis is beautiful, but as of today they rejected me, so Davis is now dead to me. j/k. I just like how there's so many trees, and it's so green. And when I went to visit, the weater was nice (for me, anyways, which means it was cool and cloudy). I understand it gets pretty hot there, though.

I've seen pictures of UCSC, and it looks gorgeous. I've seen the concept pictures of Merced, and it looks like it'll be pretty nice once they get most of the construction done. Never seen riverside, but I wouldn't be able to survive the desert climate. Other people don't seem to think much of it, though, so if I had to vote, I'd probably vote for riveside as ugliest =P
