| Campus size can be deceiving. UCLA is the smallest one, but I think they use like every square inch of space they can. Schools like Davis, on the other hand, don't use all the space for actual buildings and such because they have lots of farm and pasture land. In fact, I think they have some pretty tight restrictions on things like parking lot size and stuff, because the school wants to remain very strong in agriculture, so they're trying to avoid too much development.
Out of the UC's I've seen, I guess I would say UCI isn't the ugliest. Primarily, though, I just dislike the "modern" architecture. I think it's ugly. Overall it's not bad, though. UCLA looks pretty nice, and I remember Berkeley being pretty nice too. I like how green UCSD is, but again, the modern architecture irks me. Davis is beautiful, but as of today they rejected me, so Davis is now dead to me. j/k. I just like how there's so many trees, and it's so green. And when I went to visit, the weater was nice (for me, anyways, which means it was cool and cloudy). I understand it gets pretty hot there, though.
I've seen pictures of UCSC, and it looks gorgeous. I've seen the concept pictures of Merced, and it looks like it'll be pretty nice once they get most of the construction done. Never seen riverside, but I wouldn't be able to survive the desert climate. Other people don't seem to think much of it, though, so if I had to vote, I'd probably vote for riveside as ugliest =P |
