They did the same for me. When I asked my HS counselor, she said it was just for verification purposes. I am hoping, though, that they are taking my first semester senior year grades into account as I sent it out in February.

Did they tell you this via email or from the UCI Msg Center?

They ask for your transcript if you're a borderline applicant. If you have a strong senior year, then it'll help you =).

_Selina_: Based on what UCI2011 says about "borderline" applicants being asked for transcripts, would you mind posting ur stats?

Yes, please post your stats.

But they said they were accepted shortly after the receipt of their transcripts by UCI...so I doubt they are borderline

It's by the criteria of UCI admissions to not consider senior year grades as a part of admissions. They may be asking you for transcripts due to abnormalities within your application or to verify the college courses as was said.

Or he could've been one of the random 10% that have to verify stuff on their applications, although at this late point in the admissions...

It sucks that they won't consider senior year grades ....I thought since UCLA was doing that for their Supplemental Form...perhaps UCI would too, but I guess not b/c my last semester was probably the best throughout my whole high school career.
