Acceptance

Hey guys Im asking for my sister. So like UCI just sent my sister and blue envelope and the letter inside said that she has been accepted. Why did they let her know so late? Also they said she has until May 11, 2009 to submit her SIR and SLR. How does this work since like housing and stuff was already due may 1 according to uci's website.

She was probably waitlisted and accepted later. This is the time that waitlisted students are notified if they are accepted or not.

The deadline she has is correct and if she goes onto her myadmissionapplication for uci, she should see that she could still probably get guaranteed housing too...

..and among that if she is still wanting to go to UCI she must do the other stuff on the website.

Yes, the May 11th deadline is common for incoming freshmen accepted off the waitlist for UCI. This means she did not get in during the regular admission period. And, as expeditz suggested, the housing deadline is extended until May 11th as well.

Here are the 'official' steps she needs to take to register:

Steps to Enrollment

All May 1st deadlines are extended until May 11th.

PS Since she's surprised by the blue envelope and didn't know she was on the wait list, this means she's not checking (or not receiving) email from the UCI and probably has not registered online yet and will need to get her UCInetID.

IDK how she got in and I didnt. All of my stats were much higher than hers and I have harder classes but she got in and not me. She got in as public health science major. I put down business economics and undeclared but did not get in.

She probably had better EC's than you. I got a 2100 on the SAT and had a 3.8 GPA and didnt get in, mainly because my EC's were pretty weak.
