Why not just delete the rec field yourself? Or customize the form to fit the UC application? Or best yet, stop copypasting this thread days before decisions are released just so you can be the one who makes it?

Hey, people! I've been reading CC for years, but I just finally decided to make an account. Haha, hope college admissions are going good for all you guys!

Subjective:
  • Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Team HBV (VP), National Honor Society, Varsity Tennis
  • Job/Work Experience: summer internship at New York Life Insurance
  • Volunteer/Community service: does NHS count? :P
  • Essays: great!

  • School Type: Public, 600+ class size
  • Ethnicity: Chinese B)
  • Gender: F

Reflection
  • Strengths: Definitely the grades/test scores. My essays were good at showing my personality too.
  • Weaknesses: Weak extracurriculars. Probably going to screw me over for my other schools.
  • Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: (See strengths)
General Comments: Either way, approach acceptances and rejections in an optimistic view! I got rejected from my ED school, and I'm honestly so glad because it opened my eyes to other choices. But for those that got accepted to their top choices, good job and have fun!

great. Now I have to start writing for the waitlist option, although I find that extremely generous. Gonna need help doing so on what they're interested in.

Intended Major: English
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Country (if international applicant):
School Type: secular, private
Ethnicity: asian american

Income Bracket:
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.):first generation college
Reflection
Strengths: Dynamic, well-rounded, and committed. Although I didn't have the strongest test scores, I did stand out of my class by excelling in things I was passionate about - running, writing, and community service.
Weaknesses: I occupied an AWFUL sleep schedule my junior and senior year. Being the first to go to state from my school meant morning practices. Sleeping at 12-3 am and waking up at 5:30 to do intervals did a number on me. Personally, I never reached my full potential in academics and I think I can change that come next fall.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I showed that I was not only different from the rest of my class, in terms of athletics and academia, but also genuine. I maintained a solid, but not impossible, schedule throughout my four years, taking around 2-3 AP's my junior and senior year.
