General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
Seems like they accepted a lot of people (but maybe that's just b/c all my friends are nerds), I'm so glad I got in! UCLA is great for my major But the financial aid package isn't as great as the one UCSD offered me (Chancellor's scholarship). I'd be paying over $11,000 from loans and working at UCLA per year, but that's okay! Seriously considering attending here...Sorry to those of you who didn't receive a letter! You're all amazing, nonetheless. College admissions have been especially unpredictable these past few years.

Essays: I think I wrote one about a big decision I made in choosing high schools, which I thought was quite significant at the time (two very powerful and prestigious private schools vs. one lonely "ghetto" public school). Another essay I wrote was about a racial incident I overcame when I first begun attending the aforementioned public school. By the way, choosing the public school is the best choice I could have ever made; not that it matters to anyone else besides me.

Although I'm hoping to get into one of my private schools (USC, Stanford, Penn, Cornell or Claremont McKenna), I still feel blessed to be appreciated by a school with such history and success. I hope many students on this forum get accepted to UCLA as well. Who knows, maybe we'll all end up going here in the end. Only time will tell
ECs listed on app: Japanese Club Treasurer, not sure what else, really. My ECs were pretty weak...really regret it.

Location/Person:
State or Country: CA
School Type: Public

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: I wasn't planning on going to LA anyway, so I guess in a way I don't really care. It kind of bites that I wasn't even waitlisted though. Ah well. Maybe it was my ECs, maybe it was my essay, maybe it was my GPA, maybe I should've tried harder on the SAT...who knows. But congratulations to everyone who got in!
