So i got waitlisted by UCLA.
is there any stat about the past figures of ppl who got waitlisted were admitted at the end?
anyone know how much chance i still got?
i know this sounds a stupid question, but since im a student from hk,
i know very little about the states uni admissions.
anyone can help? thanks!
Hate to be a pessimist, but about 16,000 applicants were admitted. Based on last year's stats, they admitted a bit less than the 16,000 and 5,824 attended. This year UCLA is aiming for 5,425, less then last year's class. Most likely, essentially no one will be admitted from the waitlist if the yield rate is close to last year's (it may even be higher this year). Very disappointing, I don't even know why they would even implement a waitlist, it just gives me a sense of false hope (I got waitlisted too) hahahaha
sry to hear about that, but according to what others say it does seem pretty hopeless if you're on a waitlist (btw I never even knew that this was the first year for UC to have a waitlist). I was put on waitlist by UCSD.. but I was actually admitted by UCLA, pretty amazing huh.. good luck anyways! OF COURSE there would be a chance to get admitted after you were put into a wailist or what is the purpose to have a waitlist?!
Hi,
I got waitlisted too.
Are you guys planning on writing anything or doing anything in particular to get off the waitlist?
And if you guys dont mind, do you wanna share your SAT scores, etc?
We can get a rough estimate of what UCLA then expects, eh?
me too, waitlisted. I was hugely disappointed...
I really want to go to UCLA but oh well... they don't seem to want me..
My scores and grades fit well into their average range and I thought I had a good chance of getting in. UCSD, UC Davis accepted me though.
From reading above threads I feel even less confident waiting for waitlist admission...
Well if UC implemented waitlist, there must be something going on here. I have mixed feelings about this.
It seems kind of pointless to implement a wait list if they know that their yield was so high... Maybe there's hope? But at least Berkeley has less applicants.
2310 SAT I, 4.27 weighted GPA, Varsity softball, community service, newspaper editor
aw, thats bad news i got wait listed too but I didn't even expect it, I thought id get a rejection.
My sats weren't good, i got 1940 GPA 4.2, but i have a couple extra circulars like xc captain
I got waitlisted and I was dumbfounded. I thought I would bee accepted for sure. Oh well. Not my first choice. I feel like the same number of people were waitlisted as were admitted.
did any of you guys apply to the english major and get waitlisted? i did...lol...it was very sad but somewhat happy since i wasn't flat out told I wasn't good enough, but i just want to know if anyone here has the same thing going. also! i highly doubt if this is their first time ever having a waitlist that there would be no meaning to that...i mean why would they make one unless some of the students they had admitted were a little "iffy" on attending.
